Bedroom Progress Pics

Cute: sharing my grapefruit yesterday with Jack.
Not Cute: sharing his cold today.

But anyways -  despite my fever, stuffy nose and insane tiredness, life must go on.  And go on it did!  Tommy has been making up for my lack of energy with a double dose of his own.  This last week he cranked out the rest of the wall boards for Jack's bedroom remodel and *drumroll please* he installed carpet this morning!  He sent me to the hardware store bright and early to rent a carpet stretcher while he was putting down tack strips and carpet padding.  By 11 am he was done!

The room isn't completely finished - we still need to add baseboards and trim around the window and door.  But it's come a long ways from a room with no insulation, cracked plaster walls, no outlets and a pull cord for one lonely ceiling light.

We have multiple outlets now!  A lightswitch!  Soft flooring!  So exciting  :)  We removed the closet to make more space (it's about 9 x 14 now) and I have no idea where I'm going to hide everything I had stuffed in there.  Time to throw some crap out!

Anywhoo... I should go attack the monstrous pile of dishes now, or maybe convince Jack to watch a movie with me on the couch.  We'll see.

Nina Needs A Nap: A Run On Paragraph

So we were squatting at my parents sprawling suburban split level mansion for five days and then decided to come home because we missed our bed and our mess and our tiny little house.  (OK, it's not a mansion, but felt like it with 4 ample bedrooms, 3 lovely bathrooms, a dishwasher and cable TV).  I had visions of them flying home early and having a heart attack upon seeing how my family of three can destroy a clean house in mere minutes so I made sure to keep things extra tidy.  And then my part-time job has been feeling decidedly full time since I have worked 5 out of the last 6 days and still have 1 to go.  Besides working while in town, I've been able to sneak off to thrift stores, meet old friends for visits and even followed Jack for 25 minutes while he followed my sister as she mowed the lawn. We must have looked like a marching mowing machine.  OH!  And then there was another Dr. visit at 28 weeks to listen to Baby Hedin #2's heartbeat and drink that nasty glucose solution (I'm going to assume that I passed the gestational diabetes test with flying colors since I haven't heard otherwise).  I have to go every 2 weeks now.  The final countdown!  And did I mention that we had our big day at church two Sundays ago?  Yep, Jack was baptized and I finished my adult confirmation class.  I am home alone right now because my men ran to the fleet supply store for hardened finished nails.  For what you ask?  Jack's new bedroom.  Remember that one we ripped apart a few weeks (or was it months) ago?  It's shaping up nicely.  Pics to come soon.  So what's next?  Early bedtime, 4:45 alarm, work till 1:30, meet another pal and her new baby in town tomorrow afternoon, sleep at the parents again and then pick them up from the airport Saturday, AND PURCHASE AND PREPARE EASTER DINNER.  Yeah... I dreamt last night that I invited the family over for Easter but forgot to buy food.  But I have Jack's Easter basket finished.  That counts for something, doesn't it?

*yawn*
