OK. I live an hour from everyone I know. People just don't 'surprise' you and stop over. Generally, you know when they are coming.
And because of that, I've gotten lazy. Heck, if we don't have any place to go for the day, chances are I may not even get dressed. I could wear flannel pants all day. It's happened before.
But besides getting dressed, I've been ignoring a problem area in my house. It's the front room/tool room/maybe dining room/or someday craft room. My Idea Post was all about 'what could I do in there'. Well, it's really become a catch all. Catch all the crap.
Now for the bad news: today I had an unexpected visitor.
I had just laid Jack down for a nap and was dozing off on the couch. The knock at the door startled me. I immediately scanned myself (oh good, I got dressed today) and the living room. Err.... it looked like a toy volcano erupted. And the front room? EEEK! It was AWFUL!
My visitor was one of my friends Dad's. He is super cool and has done plenty of remodeling so was sympathetic to our tool clutter and construction mess. But I was still embarrassed. I gave him a quick tour and progress update and apologized profusely for the chaos.
After he left I knew that I had to tackle the problem area. It's better. I think. In an effort to shame myself further and motivate myself to tidy up every day, I am posting pics. Yes, airing my dirty laundry on the internet. Drumroll please......
Horrible. Just... crap... tossed over the gate. Crap.
Yes, that is a rocking horse. With a Dooney & Bourke purse as his feed bag.
*somewhat* organized crap instead of chaotic crap
Not too bad for an afternoon's work.
